I. Basic Information of the Position

II. Purpose of the role

The job responsibility of a Sr. Executive – Merchandiser is a combination of analytical skills, business acumen, and a good understanding of the market. Successful merchandisers play a crucial role in driving sales, optimizing inventory, and contributing to the overall success of a retail or fashion business. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, analysis of market trends, and effective inventory management to drive sales and maximize profitability.

III. Key Responsibilities and accountabilities of the Role

1) Communication : Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive product strategy.

2) Market Research : Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences. Conduct regular market research to identify new opportunities and potential threats.

3) Visual Merchandising : Collaborate with visual merchandisers to create appealing product displays that enhance the overall customer experience. Ensure that products are presented in a way that maximizes their visual appeal and encourages sales.

4) Forecasting : Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and promotional activities. Anticipate changes in demand and adjust inventory plans accordingly.

5) Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including buyers, designers, marketing, and sales teams, to ensure alignment between product offerings and overall business objectives. Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

6) Promotions and Markdowns : Plan and execute seasonal & other promotional launches . Plan and execute promotional strategies to drive sales and clear excess inventory. Determine appropriate markdowns for slow-moving or seasonal items to maintain profitability.

7) Sales Analysis : Regularly analyse sales data to identify trends, track product performance, and make data-driven decisions. Generate reports and insights to provide recommendations for improving sales and optimizing inventory.

8) Pricing and Profitability : Set pricing strategies based on factors such as production costs, market trends, and competitive analysis. Monitor and analyze sales data to assess the profitability of products and adjust pricing as needed.

9) Inventory Management : Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the right products are available at the right time. Implement inventory control strategies to minimize overstock and stock outs. Work with suppliers and production teams to coordinate timely deliveries and manage stock replenishment.

10) Collaborate with buyers and designers to select products that align with the company’s overall strategy and target market. Analyze market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to inform product selection.

V. Knowledge and Skills

1) Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field

2) Experience : Fresher / 6+ Years of Merchandising Experience in FMCG/Retail

3) Functional Skills required to execute the role : Proven experience in merchandising, retail, or a related industry. Must have Excellent communication both verbal and non verbal and negotiation abilities. Creative & Innovative Thinker Multilingual is a plus, ability to speak south Indian Languages

4) Technical Skills Required to execute the role : Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Power Point Functionality.

5) Any other requirements : Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, i.e. A Keen Sense of Style & in tune with Latest Trends Attention to detail and a strategic mindset. Frequent visit to stores to monitor Visual Merchandising standards
